This Arbor Day Reading Rotary distributed tree saplings to every 5th Grader in the Reading Public Schools. This year’s tree is a hawthorn which is a lovely flowering tree. Reading Rotary has been giving out trees annually to Reading students for over 30 years. Thanks to KC Latham for heading up this project. It was great to return to this project after a pandemic caused hiatus.Rotary partners with the Town's DPW to package and distribute hundreds of trees. Rotary's sponsorship of this annual project is part of Reading's designation as a Tree City.
